1. Don’t pick, press, rub, or mess around with your pimples. If you do, there’s a good chance that you’ll spread the bacteria around.

2. Go to the pharmacy and get something that contains benzoyl peroxide. Apply it over areas infected with acne twice daily after washing your face. Benzoyl peroxide helps break up dead skin and oil that clogs pores that allow acne to flourish. Start with low dosage and work your way up.

3. Besides Benzoyl peroxide products, you can also try products that contain sulfur or resorcinol which help unplug oil glands that irritate the skin

4. Protect your skin from the sun by using an oil free sunscreen SPF 15 or higher.

5. Be gentle when washing your fash. Washing removes oil from the surface of the skin, not from within the plugged ducts. So you don’t have to be too aggressive when you are washing your face. If you do so, your skin may end up drying out and get irritated.

6. Wash your face properly at least twice daily, using mild soap with warm water. If skin is oily, use soap with benzoyl peroxide for its drying properties.

7. Don’t use brushes, rough sponges, cleansers with granules or walnut hulls, or anything similar on the delicate facial skin.

8. Avoid touching your with your hands constantly.

9. If you use make-up, make sure it is water based.

10. Don’t get a facial. You may end up doing more harm than good.
